What it does

Filters the feed, not the site

Your homepage and sidebar recommendations get checked against what you've marked as educational. Everything else is hidden before you ever see the thumbnail.

You set the rules

Allow channels you trust, block topics you don't, and add keywords for the rabbit holes you personally fall into. The filter is yours, not a generic blocklist.

Shorts and comments, gone

Optional toggles strip out Shorts, the comment section, and autoplay so a five-minute tutorial stays a five-minute tutorial.

One-click pause

Done studying? Click the icon and YouTube goes back to normal. No uninstalling, no timers you have to wait out.

Nothing leaves your browser

Your settings and watch activity stay on your machine. No accounts, no tracking, no server that needs to know what you watch.

Stays out of the way

No layout jumps, no loading spinners. Pages look like YouTube, just shorter.

Three steps

  1. 1

    Install it

Add it from the Chrome Web Store. No sign-up, no onboarding tour.

  2. 2

    Pick what counts as educational

Choose the categories and channels you want to keep. Takes about a minute.

  3. 3

    Open YouTube

The feed is filtered from the first load. Adjust the rules any time from the popup.

Questions

Does it slow YouTube down?

No. Filtering happens in the page as it renders, so there's no extra network request and no waiting on a server.

Can I still search for whatever I want?

Yes. Search works normally; results are filtered by the same rules, and you can pause the extension whenever you need the unfiltered version.

Does it collect my data?

No. Settings are stored locally in your browser. Nothing is sent anywhere, and there's no analytics.

Will it work on other browsers?

It runs on any Chromium-based browser — Edge, Brave, Arc, Opera, and Vivaldi included. Install it from the Chrome Web Store link.

Something got hidden that shouldn't be. What now?

Add the channel to your allow list from the popup and it will stay visible from then on. Bug reports are welcome on the store listing.
